We dispute with all 3 bureaus
Equifax, Experian, and TransUnion are separate entities. An error on one isn't necessarily on the others. We send a parallel dispute to each bureau showing the error, with the right FCRA citation.

Federal law gives you a fast, free, statute-backed dispute process. The bureau must reinvestigate within 30 days. Willful violations carry $100-$1,000 statutory damages plus attorney's fees. We send the letter, track the clock, and escalate when ignored.

How we handle it
Equifax, Experian, and TransUnion are separate entities. An error on one isn't necessarily on the others. We send a parallel dispute to each bureau showing the error, with the right FCRA citation.
FCRA §623 gives furnishers (the original creditor) their own duty to investigate. Many disputes resolve at this layer because the furnisher knows their reporting was wrong but the bureau just rubber-stamps it.
A CFPB complaint requires a 15-day response and enters the bureau's compliance dashboard. We file it when the 30-day reinvestigation comes back unsatisfactory.
