We dispute the underlying bill
Many medical bills sent to collections are wrong — duplicate charges, NSA violations, missing itemization. We dispute the bill itself, not just the collection.

Federal rules now block credit bureaus from reporting medical debts under $500 at all, and require a 365-day grace period for everything else. Meanwhile, Rosenthal Act and FDCPA rules force collectors to stop calling and validate the debt. We use all of it.

How we handle it
Many medical bills sent to collections are wrong — duplicate charges, NSA violations, missing itemization. We dispute the bill itself, not just the collection.
Under FDCPA §809, you have 30 days from first contact to demand validation in writing. We send the demand. Most collectors can't actually produce the validation and have to drop the account.
The 365-day grace period and the under-$500 reporting prohibition are FCRA rules. If a violation lands on your report, that's a separate cause of action with its own statutory damages.
